We work to advocate an end to stigma in relation to mental health and addiction by supporting the patient to reach wellness and share their story and through educating and engaging with the public as allies in stigma reduction.
When a patient first enters care with North Sound Mental Wellness, a psychiatric interview is conducted to determine the best course of treatment. Collaborating with the patient, we will decide if medications are indicated to treat symptoms that arise from depression, anxiety and other mental health disorders. Therapy is generally recommended in conjunction with medications as these together have been shown to improve outcomes.
We can provide co-occurring services or work with an established provider to support the patient.
Therapy can be intimidating and scary, we find that building a provider-patient relationship that allows for self disclosure in a safe and non judgmental environment allows for a patient to be vulnerable which is key in the healing process. Therapy techniques are drawn from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Self-Compassion, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
We also provide medications to manage Substance Use Disorder – Buprenorphine/naloxone, naltrexone. Both oral and long acting injectables.
Meet the team
Mishele graduated from Seattle University and received her master’s as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in Substance Use Disorders. She has worked as an RN for 10 years in Mental Health and SUD.
Her treatment approach is collaborative, trauma aware and person centered. She believes that individuals know themselves best and has found that creating a therapeutic partnership is the most effective path towards healing and wellness. In her experience, all people have phases in their lives where they would benefit from a partnership with a psychiatric provider.
She offers support with medications and can also provide therapy, either along with medication management or independent of medications.
Mishele looks forward to working with you and being a part of your healing journey.
